Catechetical Programs

The following catechetical programs are authorized for use in the Diocese of Saskatoon. Contact the Christian Initiation and Catechetics Coordinator assigned to your parish for ordering information.

Born of the Spirit (BOSS) (Grades 1-6) 
We Are Strong Together (7-10, 12)

  • Published by the Canadian Conference of Bishops and recommended for use in all Catholic Schools and parishes.
  • Grades 1-10 Parish and School editions
  • This program offers a thematic, sequential approach to catechesis.

Born of the Spirit overview

Home Religion Correspondence Program

  • Resources are available for Grades 1-8 following the content and themes of the school and parish BOSS programs.
  • Published by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops and recommended for those families who wish to catechize their children at home and for those who do not have access to school or parish catechetical programs.
  • The program is administered by the Rural Catechetics Office and is available to both rural and urban families.

Pflaum Gospel Weeklies

  • Catechesis is organized by and based on the Sunday lectionary.
  • Published by Peter Li. Inc. - Dayton, Ohio, distributed in Canada by Novalis to be used in parishes with a small number of children to be catechized.
