St. Mary's Parish Mission

* ST. MARY’S PARISH MISSION March 25-29 will begin with Megan McKenna, a storytelling theologian, preaching at all of the weekend Masses – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25 and 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday, March 26 – at St. Mary’s Parish, Avenue 0 South and 20th Street West, Saskatoon. Then, on Monday March 27 through to March 29, Megan will speak from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm on the following topics: The Woman at the Well, The Man Born Blind, and The Raising of Lazarus as levels of faith and practice in the Community of Beloved Disciples (John’s Church).  Mark your calendars and plan to attend.

PLEASE NOTE:  Storytelling will be front and centre as Megan McKenna presents "Handing on Tradition, Sharing the Faith", hosted by Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St Mary's Hall, corner of Avenue 0 South and 20th Street West in Saskatoon from March 31 to April 2. The Storyteller traditionally holds a position of honour and authority in many Indigenous communities, binding generations together, keeping traditions and beliefs and practices of the people vital, and asking questions crucial to survival. 

Sessions include:

  • Elders Storytelling Circle 7:00 pm Friday, March 31;
  • Handing on the Tradition from Elders to Youth 10:00 am Saturday, April 1;
  • Creating Your Own Story (the youthful heart) 2:00 pm Saturday, April 1; and
  • Meet Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patron of the Americas, 2:30 pm Sunday, April 2.
