Hospital Chaplaincy

Hospital Chaplaincy is supported by the Bishop's Annual Appeal:

Hospital Chaplaincy in the Diocese of Saskatoon

The diocesan Hospital Chaplaincy team, funded by the Bishop's Annual Appeal, provides pastoral outreach at the two secular hospitals in the city of Saskatoon: Royal University Hospital and Saskatoon City Hospital. Because St. Paul’s Hospital is a Catholic hospital, their spiritual care program has existed since it opened, more than 100 years ago. Through a recent memorandum of understanding between the Health Region and the bishop of Saskatoon, the diocesan Hospital Chaplaincy program strives to offer effective pastoral care at the other two hospitals. The goal is for Roman Catholic patients to receive loving spiritual care during their stay.

In addition to full-time chaplain/coordinator, Jacqueline Saretsky, 306-292-5531 or 306-659-5839, the team includes between 25 and 30 volunteers, full-time chaplain Rev.  Rhéal Bussière, and five parish priests who cover calls on weekends.
For more information about hospital chaplaincy at Royal University Hospital and Saskatoon City Hospital call Jacqueline Saretsky at (306) 292-5531 or at (306) 659-5839, or contact the Spiritual Care office.
