Creating Vibrant Liturgy through Arts and Environment

Creating Vibrant Liturgy Through Arts and Environment is a one-day workshop presented by the Diocesan Liturgical Commission, led by facilitator Rosa Gebhardt, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 (registration at 9:30 a.m.) at the Cathedral of the Holy Family, 123 Nelson Road Saskatoon.

Opening of Holy Doors for Jubilee of Mercy Year

The Holy Doors that have been designated at the Cathedral of the Holy Family in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon will be formally opened for the Jubilee of Mercy during celebration of the Eucharist 6:30 p.m. on the third Sunday of Advent, Dec. 13, 2015. All are welcome to attend.

Pope Francis proclaimed an Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy from the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 to the Feast of Christ the King on Nov. 13, 2016.

Jubilee of Mercy - Holy Year begins

Year of Mercy & Opening of the Holy Door

Pope Francis has proclaimed an Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy to begin on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015. On that day, Pope Francis will open the ceremonial Holy Doors at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. On the following Sunday, Cathedrals around the world will join in solidarity with Rome by opening their own Doors of Mercy. 

Papal Nuncio Visit - 5 pm Mass, 6:30 pm dinner - all are welcome

 Apostolic Nuncio visit – Is Pope Francis coming to Saskatoon? Unfortunately not – but his personal representative in Canada is!  The Vatican’s representative in Canada, Papal Nuncio Most Reverend Luigi Bonazzi, will be with us in Saskatoon Oct. 2-3, visiting local schools, care homes, the Saskatoon Correctional Centre, and other facilities, as well as meeting with clergy and religious, and attending local events.
